I can see by that look on your face that you are as curious as I am about what is going to fall into this category. Well, to start with there's computer games... I could enter into a long discussion about all my favourite games but if I did it would probably seem very dated by the time you actually read it. After all, nobody ever updates their web pages really. Instead, I will put forward my grand total of equipment destroyed in action : 4 joysticks ( 1 Quickshot Turbo, 1 Zipstick, 1 Bug, 1 Thrustmaster ), 2 mice ( a 2-button and a 3-button ), 2 disk drives ( a 5.5in 160K drive and a 3.5in 720K drive ) and a b/w monitor... as being some kind of record. And despite all that I never did reach 'Elite'.
Oh also, if you are viewing this page using Netscape 2.0 or any other browser that is considered up to date at the time of writing then you may notice that these pages contain no 'Java' at all. This is because I don't like it at all. If you haven't tried it yet - don't, unless you have a very high boredom threshold. Oh no, that all got a bit technical... never mind. For those of you who aren't web geeks, don't worry, you didn't miss much.
Finally a quick note about computers. It is occasionally alarming to read through the newsgroups on usenet and see all the completely absurd titles of newsgroups that have sprung up just since you last read your news. You may wonder where they all come from. Well, imagine my surprise the other day when I discovered that it was possible to create my own newsgroup ! For nearly twenty four glorious hours the net was graced by the presence of alt.noise.burp.boing.ping.flup.poo before the news reps deleted it. So remember, if ever you are bored, don't just read news... make news !
