The History of the Gods.
As told in ancient custom, now forbidden to the uninitiated:
Of old, alone in the Celestial Abode, dwelt Turumak - He that is called 'Creator'. From His hands came clay, which He fashioned into Worlds, and, of these, our World is but One. Also He made Him three children through His own strength of Will and these he named Mithion, Ashteral and Grell, those that the initiated call 'The Three'. To each he alloted worlds apiece, that they might command over and protect. But great was the jealousy between the children and the creatures which they fashioned in the Void to populate these worlds; the conflict waxed great until Turumak finally forbade it and banished the war-like spirits that the Three had used to fuel their hatreds into the Nether Void. He commanded his children to begin their fashioning anew and, once this was done, He turned to new experiments, which, it is said, He is still performing today.

Thus, 'The Three' became rulers of the Million Spheres (even those who speak of them with other names concede this). Mithion and Ashteral were bound together, hoping to spring new seed, that they might increase the power of their own authority over the Worlds. Grell, however, was still resentful and removed himself to the Dark Places, where he still broods, severing the lives of as many of his brother and sister's followers as he may. He was accompanied from the first by his own child, Na-Grell, a diabolical creature, conjured from the last vestiges of Grell's older powers, and now Headman of the host of the Dead who follow him.

To Mithion and Ashteral were born the many: those the initiated term 'The Gods of Life' , Almino and his sister-wife Felashir, Keldan, Tellimir, Bagir and Linsta; those the initiated term 'The Gods of the Elements': Karil, Shenu, Feltla and her brother-husband Tilon and Hydronis; and also, the Lords and Ladies of the Animal Court, who are not worshipped by the civilized, but are known and revered in other places.

To the children of Mithion and Ashteral, there were then born those the initiated term 'The Gods of the Balance' : Almino and Felashir begat Shurionas and Mhiriz, siblings married. Bagir and Linsta begat Lillillofotim and Trenas, the brothers opposed. Tilon and Feltla's children were Glemistra and Lunistra, the brightest of all.

There are other lesser gods, whom some consider worthy of attention, but these are spoken of little in the traditional histories.

Gods by Allegiance.
Those in the Allegiances who care for the gods will pledge themselves to the following: Arbiters are partial to Peliner and Mithion, as are Gatekeepers. Bartholomews revere Trenas. Sardanapalans hold respect for Keldan. Calibans, many of the Elemental gods and Cevron. Gethsemane, Almino. Jugurtha have heathen practices, which link to the Animal Court. Vervain worship little, save themselves. Melmothans, Tellimir. Lascari, also Tellimir. Daedalans have *advanced* beyond the need of gods. Vermiform respect Peliner and Mithion. Antiochenes, Mhiriz. Revenants, Na-Grell. Palatines, Mhiriz (although they worship in a different manner to the Antiochenes). Barabbans, the dread Grell himself, or so it is rumoured. Gullivers, Hydronis and Tellimir. Tatterdemalions, a great many differnet gods. Our own Mordecai, Turumak as The One. (all that I write is expressly uncanonical, and must never be published).

Recently, more and more strangers have been coming to our lands and lending credence to the theories of the Other Worlds. They are often odd of aspect and do not speak of the same gods that we do. Yet I find that the gods are universal; different names mask the true attributes. Only of the Netherlords, who danced with Grell in the Void, do few rarely speak. I hope to return to this topic in other secret discourse...
